Why Choose PM Global?

Whether shipping goods internationally or within the country, it’s important to use a reliable sea freight forwarder. Here’s why you should consider PM Global as your preferred sea freight company in Australia:

Sea Freight Full Container Load (FCL) Clearance Process

With FCL, you can purchase or hire a container (or multiple containers) to exclusively transport your goods. Below is the clearance process of sea freight FCL:

Shipping

Once you’ve purchased the goods you want from an overseas supplier, they’re picked up and loaded into a container and transported to the departure dock by road or rail. If you’re shipping any wooden products, they must be fumigated and a fumigation certificate must be issued.

Customer delivery or clearance

After Customs and Quarantine have cleared your shipment, PM Global can either deliver the full container to your preferred destination or arrange for it to be unpacked at an approved depot and have the goods delivered loose. Once the containers have been emptied, we will return the container to the port in a timely manner to avoid any unnecessary detention charges.

Sea Freight Less than Container Load (LCL) Clearance Process

Less than Container Load (LCL) means that your goods will share a container with other clients’ goods. Here’s how the LCL clearance process works:

Shipping

Once you purchase your goods from an overseas supplier, they’re placed inside a container with other goods. The container is then transported to the departure dock, and all wooden products are fumigated before shipping.

Upon arrival in Australia, the container will be transported to the depot for unpacking and separating.

Customer delivery

Once your goods have been unpacked and cleared, you’ll have three days to collect them from the depot. PM Global can also deliver them to you in loose cartons or pallets.

Documentation

For PM Global to customs clear your sea freight shipment, we will need the following paperwork:

  • Commercial invoice of the goods
  • Packing list
  • Packing declaration
  • Fumigation certificate (if applicable)
  • Certificate of origin (if applicable)
  • Authorisation to act (if PM Global is nominated to handle your customs clearance)

While your goods are approaching Australia, we will work with Customs and Quarantine to get them pre-cleared. Sea Freight FAQs
